  • Earn a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion from a 48-hour pre-exam salesperson course. The certification must come from an accredited Missouri real estate school on or before the exam date,
  • Pass both the Missouri salesperson examination, and complete the 24-hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course (MREP) before you submit your application for the license
  • The Missouri Real Estate Practice Course can be taken before or after exam date. Make sure you take it after you complete the 48-hour pre-exam salesperson course
  • Submit your application for license within six months of completing the 48-hour pre-exam salesperson course

Pre-Exam and Practice Courses:

For your pre-exam and practice courses, You can do either online classes or go to a classroom. Online is more convenient as you can do the classes at your own pace, but classroom settings can be quicker and offer more interaction with the teacher and other peers, which may allow the material to sink in more. Either is a great method. Here are some of the classes to consider.

After you have met the eligibility requirements and passed the examination, you may apply for your real estate salesperson’s or broker’s license. You must submit your application for license to the Missouri Real Estate Commission within six months of the date of your 48-hour pre-examination course completion. If no education is required, proof of satisfactory completion of BOTH portions of the required examination must be completed within six months prior to the date the application for license is submitted to the Missouri Real Estate Commission. Follow the instructions on the reverse side of your passing score report to apply for your salesperson’s or broker’s license.

All applicants for an original Missouri license are required to be fingerprinted for a Missouri and federal criminal history background check. Therefore, all new applicants must contact 3M/Cogent for fingerprinting prior to making application for licensure.
